Victor Szabo

Victor Szabo, aka DJ GalaXy, has been involved in the Toronto music scene since 1996. His first forays into music were as a guitar player in various rock, jazz, and experimental bands. After completing the jazz program at Humber College in 1997, Victor was swept into the exploding electronica scene, and applied his knowledge of computers and recording gear. His first official release was under the moniker Fwark, and was released on a Noisefactory Recordings compilation in 1999. Fwark's second official release was on a wabi recordings compilation in 2003. Victor continues to produce (mainly drum n bass) music under various names, and his music can be heard via underground djs throughout Toronto.

Victor's diverse musical background makes him indispensable in the field of recording. He has been recording, engineering and producing various projects since his days at Humber College. His latest project was Great Lake Swimmers', an album he engineered and mixed in 2001-2002. This album was released on Weewerk recordings in early 2003 and is currently receiving rave reviews in music publications across Canada.

In addition to producing, Victor has been deejaying since 1997 and is the host of the Nuff Blending Showcase, which airs on CKLN 88.1 in Toronto.
